Although nobody from the Smith-Cotton girls track team qualified for next weekend’s state meet, the 3200-meter relay team set what is believed to be a school record.
S-C coach Brad Hagedorn said the team’s unofficial time came in at 10 minutes, 6 seconds — a time good enough for the school record as long as it isn’t changed when the official results are posted.
Jenny Paul, Alicia Sims, Elizabeth Ulmer and Anesha Sims ran the relay at the Class 4 sectional meet in Camdenton.
