Sweet Springs starts fast in rout of Windsor

Sweet Springs scored seven first-inning runs and six more in the second Thursday to beat Windsor 15-4 in the I-70 Conference softball tournament  consolation game at Alma.

Stephanie Krause went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Shelby Hayworth had three RBIs and a double and Stacia Nelson doubled and drove in two runs. Kaila Koch went 1-for-1 with two RBIs.

Kathleen Tyler (5-5) gave up four runs — three earned — on six hits with no strikeouts and three walks in five innings.

Danielle Eggers took the loss.

Kaitlin Lowe 2-for-2 with a run scored for Windsor. Jessie Wolfe went 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Allison Yates went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs.
