S-C girls send five to sectional

Five Smith-Cotton girls qualified Monday for a Class 4 sectional track and field meet.

They earned top-four finishes in their respective events to advance.

Jenny Paul, Alicia Sims , Anesha Sims and Elizabeth Ulmer placed third in the 3200 relay in the Class 4, District 6, meet in Springfield. Their time of 10:07.4 was 0.02 off the school record.

Claire Waldo qualified in the 3200.
