Melton wins S-C's only match

Josh Melton won Smith-Cotton’s only match Thursday in a rain-shortened West Central Conference tennis meet in Harrisonville. Harrisonville won 6-1.

He beat A.J. Sutton 8-6.

In the other singles matches, Jake Long beat Matt Roehrs 8-0, Eric Boyd beat Chris Shepard 8-3, Jeff Savage beat Anthony Tsao 8-6, Ben Warner beat Ryan Bell 8-5 and Christopher Knibbe beat Dustin Bergman 8-3.

Long-Boyd beat Shepard-Roehrs 8-1 in the only doubles match that was completed.
