ROUNDUP: Melton, Tilley guide S-C to win

Josh Melton and Adam Tilley helped produce two wins each Tuesday as the Smith-Cotton boys tennis team beat Warrensburg 5-4.

In singles, Melton beat John O’Connel 8-4, and Tilley beat Luke Miller 8-6 in matches played at Warrensburg.

In doubles, Tilley and Ryan Bell beat Keith Stierwalt and Miller 8-1, and Melton and Chet Krouse beat Cord Luehrman and O’Connel 8-4.

Chris Shepard won S-C’s other match, beating Stierwalt 8-2.

In the other singles matches, Thomas Golson beat Matt Roehrs  8-6, Henry Shull beat Bell 8-3 and Luehrman beat Dustin Bergman 8-3.

Golson-Shull beat Shepard-Roehrs 9-8 (7-5) in doubles.

In singles, Michael Draper beat Conor Krause 8-1, Trevor Griffin beat Brian Cass 8-5, Collin Chastain beat Ryan Brito 8-0, Jake Pugh beat Andrew Cates 8-1, Derek Bowlin beat Tim Madison 8-0, and Ryan Marrs beat Carlo Angeles 8-1.

In doubles, Draper-Griffin beat Krause-Cass 8-5. Chastain-Pugh beat Brito-Cates 8-1, and Bowlin-Marrs beat  Ake-Angeles 8-0.
