Lexington edges Knob Noster

The Sedalia Democrat

The Lexington boys tennis team won a trio of tight matches Monday to beat Knob Noster 5-4 in a Missouri River Valley Conference match at Knob Noster.

Mike Looney beat Conor Krause 9-8 (7-4) in No. 1 singles, Jon Ketterman beat Tim Madison 8-6 in No. 5 singles, and Kacey Knox and Ketterman beat Ryan Brito and Andrew Cates 8-6 in No. 2 doubles.

Brito, Cates and Carlo Angeles won singles matches for Knob Noster.

Brito beat Knox 8-2, Cates beat Devlin Rice 8-5, and Angeles beat Brian Dillon 9-8 (7-3).

Logan Welch beat Knob Noster’s Brian Cass 8-1 in the other singles match.

Alec Ake and Angeles beat Rice-Westfall 8-4 for Knob Noster’s only doubles victory.

Looney-Welch beat Krause-Cates 8-4 in the other doubles match.
