    Eight Windsor track athletes advance to sectionals

    Eight Windsor track and field athletes advanced with top-four finishes in Saturday’s district meet at Knob Noster. The sectional meet will be Saturday at Richmond.

    For the girls, Lindsay Sheffield had gold medal performances in the high hurdles (17.4) and the low hurdles (51.1).

    Freshman Kaitlin Mugler advanced in the triple jump (32 feet, 1 inch), placing second.

    For the boys, both sprint relays advanced with second-place times — the 4x200 (1:36.2) relay with Alex Baughman, Tyler Brockman, Chase Drenon and Dillon Johnson, and the 4x100 (46.6) relay with Ryan Hamilton, Brockman, Drenon and Johnson.

    Hamilton qualified with a fourth-place mark in the long jump (18 feet, 8 inches).

    Junior Ronald Smith advanced with a fourth-place time and personal best in the 1600 (5:01).
