Stover rolls into district semis

Bulldogs beat Cole Camp 4-0

Justin Rasa and Jesse Sack provided the offense and goalkeeper Tyler Wilson earned a shutout Monday night in the first round of the Class 1, District 5 boys soccer tournament in Westphalia.

Rasa scored three goals, and Sack scored one goal and had two assists, as the Stover Bulldogs beat Cole  Camp 4-0.

On a restart 2 minutes into the match, Sack sent a high pass in Rasa’s direction, and Rasa headed it past the goalkeeper.

The Bulldogs went ahead 2-0 about 3 minutes later. Rasa booted a corner kick that hit the goalkeeper and went into the goal.

Sack scored his goal off a cross from Reed Harms with 2 minutes left in the first half.

Rasa scored off a cross from Sack 14 minutes into the second half to complete the scoring.

Wilson made nine saves to earn the shutout.

Stover (16-5) will face the winner of the Crocker-Belle match in the semifinals at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
