    S-C boys golfers win triangular

    Led by medalist Brendan Hurley’s even-par 36, the Smith-Cotton Tigers placed first with a 171 to win Wednesday’s triangular match at Meadow Lake Country Club in Clinton.

    “Wow, did Brendan play well,” Smith-Cotton coach B.J. Curry said in an e-mail. “He is finally catching up with his ability. He has been working hard, trying different approaches to find the one that works best for him.”

    Nick Carroll followed up with a 42, Jake Burkholder netted a 44 and Conner Hurley rounded out the scores with a 49.

    O’Hara finished seven strokes behind at 178 and Clinton finished with a 203.
